Between emails, banking apps, social media, streaming subscriptions, and the passcode on your phone, most of us are carrying around dozens of digital accounts that only we know how to open. The Myend Vault is where you store the keycodes, passwords, and instructions your Legacy Contacts will need — so nothing gets left behind as a locked door. For each item you store, you decide exactly what should happen to it and who should be the one to handle it.
What the Vault is for
The Vault holds anything with a login, a code, or a “what do I do with this?” attached to it — email and cloud accounts, banking and financial logins, social media, subscriptions, computers and phones, Wi-Fi passwords, and more. Every account is stored with your own instructions attached, so your Legacy Contact never has to guess whether you wanted an account deleted, memorialized, or kept exactly as it is.
How to add an item
- Open the Vault section in the app.
- Tap the + icon in the bottom right corner.
- Choose a category: Computers, Cell phone, Email, Social media, or Websites (banking, financial, and other account types are also supported).
- Fill in the details for the account — the name of the service, the login, and any notes your Legacy Contact would need.
- Assign a contact to the item, or add a new one if the right person isn’t in your contacts yet.
- Choose what should happen to the account: give your contact full access, have them extract the data (or funds), memorialize it, delete it, cancel a subscription, or leave a special request with your own instructions.
- Leave any notes or extra instructions — recovery codes, context, or anything that will make the handover easier.
A quick word on passwords
Never type or paste an actual password into a chat with Justine, Myend’s planning assistant. Justine can help you create the vault entry — the shell of the item, the category, the contact, the instructions — but the password itself should always be entered directly into the vault form, where it’s encrypted before it ever leaves your device.
How your Vault stays secure
Everything you store in the Vault is encrypted with AES-256 encryption, client-side, before it’s saved. That means Myend staff cannot read the contents of your Vault, and your answers are never used to train any AI model. Nothing in your Vault is shared with anyone while you’re alive — it’s released only to a Legacy Contact after Myend’s Proof of Life system confirms your passing, which requires an Access Key, email verification, and your Proof of Life check-ins going unanswered. If you’re on the Free plan, note that the Vault holds up to 10 documents; Starter and Complete remove that limit.
